ASPHODELACEAE

 These icons of the Northern Cape in South Africa and southwestern to central Namibia are real show animals.
 Also known as the quiver tree, it's a true phenomenon in the region, where it grows in the harshest conditions and the most nutrient-poor soil. The name comes from the branching that occurs at a certain height. These trees are naturally hollow and were used by local tribes as quivers to store their arrows.
 This particular specimen is for the true fan who has the time, space, and money for it. An atypical specimen considering its size and age.
