ASPHODELACEAE
These icons of the Northern Cape in South Africa and southwestern to central Namibia are true showpieces.
Also called the koker tree, it's a true phenomenon in the region, where they grow in the harshest conditions and the most nutrient-poor soil. The name comes from the branching that occurs at a certain height. These are naturally hollow and were used by local tribes as quivers to store their arrows.
This particular specimen is for the true enthusiast who has the time, space, and money to spare. An atypical specimen given its size and age.
