ANACAMPSEROTACEAE

This plant is often called Avonia papyraceae , but it is now considered Anacampseros . Whatever its exact name, this plant is one of my personal favorites.

Native to South Africa and Namibia where they grow in the harshest conditions.

It's a small perennial plant with short stems covered in stipular, papery scales. The whole thing resembles a string of white snakeskin sausages no larger than a few centimeters. They also bloom with tiny, inconspicuous flowers that sometimes go to seed themselves.

Full sun and only water during the growing season when the substrate dries out.
