APOCYNACEAE
This plant occurs in southern Africa with the exception of South Africa itself.
It's a semi-succulent vine that naturally twines around other plants and becomes woody. Older specimens develop a distinctive appearance. In cultivation, it's often kept small and pruned frequently to encourage the caudex to swell. You'll notice that it tends to produce long shoots that wander around, looking for something to twine around. You can easily cut them back if you prefer.
Easy plant. Full sun, plenty of water during the growing season, and dry overwintering.
