CAMPANULACEAE
This conical pear tree originates from southwestern South Africa, where it grows underground. Once the hot summer is over and the rains arrive, the plant blossoms and sends out a climbing stem that will twine around anything nearby. Tiny, beautifully colored flowers sometimes appear on this stem.
Winter grower, so the growing season runs from September to sometime in May/June. So be careful with watering during the winter. In the summer, let it go dormant by not watering, and prune climbing stems if they drop leaves. Full sun.
