APOCYNACEAE
This magnificent plant is not a cactus but a member of the carrion flower family, which also includes Stapelia, Huernia, and Caralluma. It is native to southwestern Angola to northwestern Namibia.
It is the largest Hoodia species and grows into a shrub up to 2 meters tall, quite impressive.
It blooms with yellow-orange flowers that have a foul odor to attract pollinating flies.
It's quite rare to find H. parviflora of this size in cultivation; buy it while you can, haha.
Full sun and water when the substrate dries out during the growing season. DEFINITELY stop watering from mid/late September and only water again from mid-March to early April to prevent root rot. These are very sensitive plants, but a fun challenge.
