This plant is often sold under the name Merremia holubii, but this is incorrect.
Also called Ipomoea holubii, it's actually a different member of this family that forms a shrub with heart-shaped leaves.
This is actually a different phenotype of Ipomoea bolusiana (also available for sale).

They originate from Southern Africa, where they grow as a geophyte with an aesthetically pleasing tuber (the caudex) from which leaves and flowers emerge after dormancy. They bloom at random times during the growing season.

Full sun and regular watering during the growing season.
