PEDALIACEAE
This plant can be found growing wild in South Africa and Botswana, both in desert areas and low scrub biomes. In their natural habitat, the beautiful swollen caudex is hidden beneath the soil surface. In cultivation, the caudex is accentuated by planting it partially above ground to admire its structure. The stems emerging from the caudex don't grow very tall and have a waxy coating to prevent evaporation. Sometimes you'll be rewarded with beautiful pink/purple bell-shaped flowers. A charming caudex that isn't yet very well-known.
Full sun and water during the growing season when the plant is almost dry. In winter, stop watering and allow the stems and leaves to die back naturally. Once the plant starts growing again in spring, normal watering can be resumed.
