PHYLLANTHACEAE
Curiously enough, this plant originates from Myanmar, Thailand, and Laos. They grow in tropical and humid conditions, from swamps to limestone cliffs. It's in drier habitats that this plant exhibits stunted growth with its thick caudex. Even in cultivation, it remains stunted in a pot, allowing the caudex to remain nice and thick. A nice feature of this plant is that it closes its leaves around evening and opens again in the morning.
It doesn't necessarily need full sun; an east-west window is sufficient. It likes water during the growing season and also enjoys a drink once a month during the winter to prevent its leaves from dropping.
