CACTACEAE
This cactus comes from northwestern Argentina.
This variant is semi-inermis which means that it produces few papery spines, making the segments look 'naked' and stand out more.
Every year, new segments grow on top of the older ones. It produces large, beautiful white flowers. The plants themselves don't grow taller than 60cm under the right conditions.
Beware: the cactus has tiny glochids (very small, barbed spines) that can itch quite annoyingly if you touch them. Not for the faint of heart :).
